The Macomb Community College and the Michigan Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (MACRAO) have come together to establish the MACRAO Transfer Agreement, which allows community college students in Michigan to easily transfer credits to four-year universities.

The agreement was created in an effort to simplify the transfer process for students and make higher education more accessible. Under the agreement, students who complete an associate degree at a participating community college will be able to transfer to a participating four-year university as a junior, with their general education requirements fulfilled.

The MACRAO Transfer Agreement is a great option for students who are looking to save money on tuition costs by attending a community college for their first two years. It also provides a clear path for students who may be undecided on their major or future career path, as they can complete their general education requirements at a community college before deciding on a specific major at a four-year university.

Currently, 25 community colleges in Michigan and more than 50 four-year universities participate in the MACRAO Transfer Agreement. Participating institutions include Michigan State University, University of Michigan, Wayne State University, and Oakland University, among others.

To take advantage of the MACRAO Transfer Agreement, students must first complete an associate degree at a participating community college with a minimum grade point average of 2.0. They must also meet the specific requirements of the four-year university they plan to transfer to, such as completing certain prerequisite courses.
